I never really understood the
importance of water in my life until I decided one day to really investigate
what my body is composed of and how much of that composition is WATER!!!
Here is a synopsis of what I
discovered about myself and every human being...
- The Human body
is made of up to 60% water.
- The Brain is
composed of 70% water. Add 20 percent to that and you have the amount of
water that the lungs are composed of. That's right, 90%!
- Our blood is
made up of over 80% of water.
- Water is very
essential to our digestive system and regulation of body temperature.
The facts and statistics
about the importance of water in the body are seemingly incessant. However
statistics show that we don't drink enough water. A good rule of thumb that
I've picked up is to drink 0.5 ounces for each pound of your body. So if you weight 210lbs. then you should be drinking
at least 105oz. of water a day at least (but the more the better), you get the
picture.
